At Curtainline Dance Competition our main focus is on creating an unforgettable experience for young artists in a fun, safe environment. We highly emphasize integrity and fairness with our competition which truly sets Curtainline Dance Competition apart from the others. All of our judges and teachers are industry professionals. Our Registration can be done through our website anytime through your Studio or as an Independent. We believe in honest competition and providing wholesome family fun for everyone!! Daniel Thomson
Co-Director
Daniel was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He trained in many dance forms and participated in numerous regional and national dance competitions. His competition accolades include many top overall high scoring routines, superior technical execution
awards as well as being awarded numerous regional and national titles. This prepared him for his professional dance career which has taken him around the world.
Daniel’s professional career began as an apprentice company member with Nevada Ballet Theater at the age of 18. Daniel went on to work for Holland America Cruise Line (Stiletto Entertainment) in the capacity of dance captain, company and choreographer. He was a dancer in "Rock Around the Clock" a swing-dance show with a residency in Monte Carlo, Monaco [France]. He has also been a performer at Universal Studios in Los Angeles as well as assistant manager played the role of "Mike" in "A Chorus Line" directed by Kay Cole, the original "Maggie" from the Broadway production.
Industrial clients he has worked for include Paul Mitchell, Cengage Learning, Redken, Sotheby's Auction House, Cisco, Adobe, International Model Search, Wine Amplified - Las Vegas, Dos Equis, Sabaan and Comcast to name a few. He has performed as the opening acts for artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Michael Buble, Luke Bryan and 50 Cent. Daniel was also a backup dancer for recording artist Manika and appeared on the nationally televised show "Battle of the Strands".
His Las Vegas show credits include "Show in the Sky" at the Rio Hotel & casino, "Tribute Royalty" and "America's Got Talent - Live" at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino, "MJ Live" [Dance Captain] at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino and "Divas" [Dance Captain / Choreographer] at the Linq Hotel & Casino. When Daniel’s not busy co-directing Curtainline Dance Competition he can still be found hard at work as a professional dancer/choreographer on the Las Vegas strip.
Amy Thomson
Co-Director
Amy is a native, born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada where she received her extensive dance training starting at the age of seven. She booked her first job in 1997 for Skechers, as a shoe model. Amy continued her dance career attending the Las Vegas Academy of
Performing Arts and International Studies, where she majored in dance. During high school she began doing technique/training videos for the very talented John Crutchman and Alan Sherfield. Amy has since toured the world dancing on a cruise ship, worked as David Copperfield's assistant, and modeled for Dos Equis XX, the Magic Convention, the dance captain at MJ Live, and many more.
In the past couple of years, Amy has been part of the opening act for Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, U2, and Michael Buble. She has also danced onstage for many popular artists such as Wale, Grand Master Dee, Too Short, Drake, and at the age of 17, she not only danced for the well-known Kenny Ortega, but also danced in the Billboard Music Awards as a dancer for, one of her favorite artists, Beyonce.
Amy has since then choreographed the opening act for Toddrick Hall Straight Outta Oz 2016 in Las Vegas and has currently helped choreograph for shows on the Las Vegas strip. Amy uses her passion for movement and exercise in her everyday life. She was last seen dancing and touring on stage in the Donny and Marie Show.
Amy's proudest moment in life would be when she became a mother. When Amy is not with her family, she is seen sharing her love for dance with kids of all ages.
